Or House was the very first department store in Hsinchu during the Japanese colonial period, its beautiful architecture bearing witness to countless years of glamour and bustle. Reopening in 2023, its concept was inspired by the tradition of the hundred-good-fortune quilt (baina bei). In early agrarian societies, when a baby reached their first full month, friends and relatives would bring a palm-sized piece of fabric. The mother would then stitch these remnants together into a garment or blanket, wishing for the child's healthy upbringing. I use these dashed lines to symbolize a fresh start for Shinzhou House, bringing people together once again.
The tablecloth shown in the image features an overhang of approximately 20 cm on each side. To achieve this look, add 40 cm to both the length and width of your tabletop; for example, if your table measures 140 cm x 70 cm, we recommend purchasing a tablecloth sized 180 cm x 110 cm (equivalent to 2 yards).
The fabric is made of 100% polyester, offering superior wrinkle resistance and stain cleanability. Please note that the edges are unfinished (raw cut).

Every JainJain textile pattern is inspired by the urban landscapes of Taiwan, capturing overlooked details such as the geometric lines of corrugated metal rooftops or the weathered textures left behind by years of rain. These familiar yet often unnoticed scenes are transformed into distinctive graphic patterns that celebrate the beauty of everyday life. (Insert design inspiration story here)
Please Note:
Each JainJain product is individually cut from a continuous printed fabric. As a result, the placement of the pattern will vary from piece to piece, making every product truly one of a kind.
