The Story Behind the Mixed Breed dog Print

This print is both a design exercise in simplification and a story about “Mix” — a mixed-breed dog (also called a “miks” or “mutt”).

Each one is truly unique. You can’t call them by breed, so you just say: Little Yellow, Flower, Blackie, or Tiger.

Duoduo is also a mixed-breed dog — white with tabby stripes and a slender waist.

On my days off, I take her for walks along the riverside park — my favorite kind of date.

I love watching her wagging tail and joyful steps.

Beyond the floodbank lies her territory.

There, I let go of the leash and she runs freely across the grass.

Every tree and plant seems to hold a scent she connects with —

as if that riverside park is truly her home.

There are many dogs at the park.

You don’t see them during the day — they hide behind trees or in the tall grass.

But when night falls and the world quiets down, they come out to forage.

In truth, we are all a little like mixed breeds.

We don’t get to choose where we come from.

Our lives are pieced together from countless fragments,

and only in the end do we become who we are today.

In that way, we’re all “Mix.”

Important Note

JainJain’s textile patterns are inspired by the everyday urban scenery of Taiwan —

often overlooked moments, like the lined textures of corrugated rooftops

or the worn, rain-stained corners of an old wall.

Each product is cut from a continuous roll of patterned fabric,

so the print layout will vary for every item — making each one truly unique.

Care Instructions

All fabrics are pre-shrunk and color-fixed, and can be washed with water.

For small stains, we recommend spot-cleaning with a mild detergent to extend the product's lifespan.

Do not use bleach.
